"Safe Riding for Ryan"

Skiers and boarders - honor the memory of Ryan Lichtenberg by competing in this very important and popular Terrain Park event. A new park feature honoring the memory of Ryan Lichtenberg will be debuted! In an effort to promote helmet awareness and safety, guests and competitors can enter the Ryan Memorial Helmet Raffle to win a free helmet of their choice from the Liberty Mountain Sport Shop!

$20 entry fee for each participant includes a Ryan Sticker, Ryan Rail Jam bandana and lunch. Helmets, lift tickets and signed release forms are required for each participant. Click here to print and sign the release agreement and registration forms then bring them in with you the evening of the event.

Information about Ryan Lichtenberg and the Memorial Rail Jam

For those who aren't familiar with the story, Ryan was a former employee and frequent park competitor, as well as a friend to many people here at the mountain. He passed away during the Fall of 2004 in Colorado due to a head injury sustained while snowboarding. His family wishes to continue to get the word out about safety and helmet usage, and we here at Liberty give our full support: Sunday the 23rd of January marks our 6th Annual Memorial Rail Jam.

A raffle to win a helmet of your choice from Liberty Mountain Sports Shop will be at the Chalet at the base of Vertigo Terrain Park. The family will be here supporting the event and the cause. All competitors in the event will get a "Safe Riding for Ryan" bandana & sticker for participating. The event will be run in an open jam format for an hour and a half depending on number of participants, and cash & prizes will be awarded to top riders.
